Fire Investigation Safety at Large/Complex Scenes

This four-day, tested training course for experienced fire investigators provides detailed information on the safety issues and health hazards associated with large or complex fire scene investigations. It then provides specific information and methodologies from a wide range of sources to assess hazards and risks, mitigate them, and implement appropriate safety procedures for such and many other post-fire investigation scenes.

This class consists of lectures, group discussions, and two group exercises with student learning demonstration presentations.

Students will receive the course textbook and other supporting documents.

Required Student Prerequisites:

• Completion of a basic fire investigation course of at least 40 hours

• A minimum of three years of fire investigation experience
